Wow, the blog has been silent for a long time. A. Really. Long. Time.
I had a bunch of stuff going on behind the scenes earlier in the year. My mistake was in allowing that to push the blog so far down my list of priorities that it’s been four months since I posted something new. In doing so, I broke every recommendation I share with my members about establishing and maintaining a viable presence online. But more importantly, it means I haven’t been part of the conversation, part of the meeting of minds about publishing futures during a pretty eventful and exciting few months.
Well, that ends here. You’ll notice I’ve used some of the downtime to re-skin the blog. I hope you like it.
I took my inspiration from Cory Doctorow’s excellent article Think Like a Dandelion, a philosophy to which I personally ascribe. Get your teeth into that for a few moments while I put my butt into top gear to bring you some fresh content and even a sneak-peek at some exciting new projects that will be launched later this year.

So lovely to see you back in action, with a beautiful new-look blog!
Looking forward to upcoming posts. This article by Doctorow sums up the oppportunities of digital publishing so well. Dandelions FTW!
Congratulations on having members!
All writing is writing. So hoarding it away when nobody can sell it anyway. Great to see you back.
Hey Meg, thanks. I created and discarded a few different designs before settling on this. I have to say I’m absoluting loving Thesis theme for WordPress.
Hi Paul, great to be back.
Great to see you back in action, Kate.

I can’t stop thinking like a scientist long enough to embrace the dandelion metaphor, but it’s great to see you back on deck here regardless, Kate.
